Graf von Faber-Castell Ruthenium Rollerball Pen of the Year 2020
Please Note: This Pen is a pre-order. Please contact Standard Bindery for current delivery times.
The Pen of the Year 2020 is inspired by the Greek heroes of Sparta and their king Leonidas. The Spartiates’ discipline and superiority are legendary, acquired in a strict education from childhood onwards. In homage to the art of metalworking which was applied to produce Spartan armour, short swords and shields the distinctive barrel of the writing instruments is adorned with premium diamonds which are set by hand. The milled, matt grip zone is a reference to the warriors' breastplate. The milled decorations on the barrel are reminiscent of the archaic patterns on the Spartans’ protective, precisely fitting battle dress. The spring-loaded clip on the cap of the Pen of the Year 2020 is based on the shape of the Greek ridge helmet.
This rollerball pen has a magnum sized black rollerball refill. The Matt, sand-blasted, ruthenium-coated metal barrel with milled pattern has seven rough diamonds of 0,35 carat that embody Greek values such as pride, perseverance and dignity. The milled, matt grip zone is a reference to the warriors' breastplate whilst the spring-loaded clip is based on the shape of the Greek ridge helmet. The end cap with lacquered inlay features the lambda character which was emblazoned on the Spartan warriors' shields. There are only 90 numbered copies made of this pen.
It is delivered in a black, highly polished wooden box (including brochure and certificate of authenticity) which also has additional inserts offering space for six more writing instruments.
