Staten-Generaal Rood No. 17 is a bright shade of pinkish red.
The faceted ink bottle is characterised by the long-neck, in which there is a glass marble. When the closed ink bottle is tilted, the neck of the bottle fills itself with ink. Once it's horizontal again the marble will fall back and prevent the ink from flowing back into the bottle. In the neck of the bottle there is now enough ink to easily fill your fountain pen, even when the pot is almost empty.
To mark 100 years since opening, P.W. Akkerman introduced their own fountain pen ink line. The Akkerman inks have been given names relating to the city of The Hague.
For generations the expertise of P.W. Akkerman has been well known, not only in the Netherlands, but abroad as well. Since 1910, they have been located in the stylish Passage of The Hague.
