  • To mark 100 years since opening, P.W. Akkerman introduced their own fountain pen ink line. The Akkerman inks have been given names related to the city The Hague.

Residentie Blauw is a vibrant shade of blue. Use the colour chart to compare shades.

The faceted ink bottle is characterised by the long-neck, in which there is a glass marble. When the closed ink bottle is tilted, the neck of the bottle fills itself with ink. Once it's horizontal again the marble will fall back and prevent the ink from flowing back into the bottle. In the neck of the bottle there is now enough ink to easily fill your fountain pen, even when the pot is almost empty.

  • For generations the expertise of P.W. Akkerman has been well known, not only in the Netherlands, but abroad as well. Since 1910, it's been located in the stylish Passage of The Hague.

In 2010, P.W. Akkerman received the predicate of Royal Supplier, a title that validates their expertise.

  • P.W. Akkerman ink works with all fountain pens. Fountain pens require the use of an ink converter. You attach this to the pen in the same way as an ink cartridge, then submerge the entire nib into the reservoir of P.W. Akkerman ink. As you squeeze or twist the back end of the converter it will draw the ink inside via the nib. Please repeat the process of squeezing until the converter is full. Then take a paper towel and dry the nib.

Your second option for using bottled ink such as P.W. Akkerman ink requires the use of a pipette. Use the pipette to draw up some ink and fill an empty ink cartridge.
